Sopra Steria Recruitment Shortlisted for Disability Initiative Award

London, 22 February 2018 – Sopra Steria Recruitment, one of the leading UK staffing companies and managed recruitment providers, is delighted to announce that it has been shortlisted in the Training and Development category of the Recruitment Industry Disability Initiative (RIDI) Awards.

Now in their fourth year, the RIDI Awards recognise progress in recruiting disabled people and celebrate best practice within the sector.

The submission for the category outlined how effective training has improved levels of disability confidence in recruiters and how that has contributed to the candidate experience. Sopra Steria Recruitment worked closely with the Business Disability Forum to run a series of training and education sessions, which were attended by every single employee across the organisation. In addition, the company has developed an online hub - Learning Heroes - which is a platform to help all of its employees broaden their knowledge of equality, diversity and inclusion through on-going training.

As a result, its recruiters are now fully equipped to assess all candidates fairly on their ability to do the job and possess the skills to recognise – and remove- any barriers which they feel some candidates could face due to a disability.
